Lindbergh Oneal Willis, 59, of the 2500 block of Keller Ave., died June 28, 1996, in Sentara Leigh Hospital.
Mr. Willis was born in Grifton, N.C., and was a member of Good News Family Worship Center, Norfolk. He was a retired service associate for Sentara Norfolk General Hospital after 20 years. He was director and founder of the Tidewater Gospel Drama Guild and served in the U.S. Army until he received an honorable discharge. He was preceded in death by his father, Odell S. Willis and his mother, Elzena C. Willis.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Marie Willis; a daughter, Mrs. La Barbara Willis-Perry of Virginia Beach; a son, Michael Lee Willis of Norfolk; a godson, Clarence K. Staton of Chesapeake; his stepmother, Leola Willis of Norfolk; brothers, Bishop L.E. Willis, Isaac O. Willis, both of Norfolk, and James O. Willis of Cape May, N.J.; grandchildren, Marcus A. Perry, Byron S. Perry of Virginia Beach, and Michael L. Willis Jr. of Norfolk; godchildren, Clarence K. Staton and Cierra S. Staton, both of Chesapeake.
The funeral will be conducted Friday at noon by the Rev. Levi Willis Jr. in Good News Family Worship Center of Norfolk. Burial with military honors will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. T.E. Cooke Twilight Funeral Home is in charge. Viewing for the public will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Good News Family Worship Center today. Family and friends will assemble at 806 E. 26th St. for the procession to the church at 11 a.m. Friday.
