Hayward Marjet Beddingfield, 79, of the 300 block of Kay Road, died July 6, 1896 in his residence.
He was a native of Dunn, N.C., and retired as a welder from Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of Alliance Church, Portsmouth and was an Army veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Irene Ida Beddingfield.
A funeral will be conducted Monday at 1 p.m. in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. W. Keith McKnight. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home todayfrom 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials may be made to the building fund of the Alliance Church.
