I found it intriguing that Secretary of Defense William Perry would come to Norfolk to make a speech about the Defense Department getting tougher about ``security.''
Norfolk, home of the largest naval base in the world, with wide-open gates and Navy brass who are so enthusiastic about pleasing local politicians and business leaders that they flagrantly ignore the well-being, safety and security of the sailors working on the local bases.
Is this another case of Clinton-policy double-speak?
