JOSEPHINE PITTMAN GRIFFIN

Josephine Pittman Griffin, 61, of the 1800 block of Hearthside Court, departed this life on July 12, 1996.

Mrs. Griffin attended the Norfolk public schools. She was a child care provider and a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church. She was born to Alice P. Correy and the late Aiken Kelly in Norfolk, June 20, 1935. She was predeceased by her youngest son, Edward Griffin Jr.

Survivors include her loving husband, Edward Griffin Sr.; stepmother, Beulah Kelly of Norfolk; three daughters, Deborah, Cynthia P. Moore and Lisa Pittman of Norfolk; two sons, Joseph Byrd and Anthony Griffin of Chesapeake; one sister, Lois H. Thorogood of Norfolk; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two daughters-in-law; two sons-in-law; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. Ronnie Joyner. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. The family will assemble at the residence on Wednesday. The remains will be placed in church at 10 a.m. Graves Funeral Home, Norfolk, is handling arrangements. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
