Benjamin Franklin Lamb, 101, of the 100 block of Swanson Road, beloved Father, went to be with the Lord on July 13, 1996.
He was born in Perquimans, N.C., and was the widower of Ethel Bunch Lamb. He was retired as a sheet metal worker from American Sheet Metal after 40 years. He was the oldest member of Ocean View Baptist Church and a member of Knights of Pythias Charity Lodge (NU)10. He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline L. Davis of Norfolk; a sister, Mary R. Denning of Virginia Beach; a brother, Roger A. Raby of Norfolk; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Hilda V. Sykes, Lillian R. Strayhorn and Nolar C. Fenstermacher and two brothers, Harry W. Raby and Emmett L. Raby.
A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Joseph Williams. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today for visitation and at 3622 Buckingham St., Norfolk, at other times.
