Rose S. Levin, 83, of the 1000 block of Woodrow Ave., died July 15, 1996, in Norfolk General Hospital.
Ms. Levin was a member of Beth El Temple in Norfolk; a volunteer at the Jewish Family Service in Norfolk, where she had made volunteer of the year; secretary of the Ladies Hebrew Charity; a member of Hadassah of Norfolk; and a volunteer in the children's reading program at Larchmont Elementary. She was a retired administrative assistant at the Public Health Service Hospital of Norfolk.
Ms. Levin was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Gertrude Levin; two brothers, Samuel and Isaac Levin; a sister, Jean Levin. She is survived by three nephews, Malcolm Levin of Springfield, Ill., Martin Levin of Norfolk, and Robert Levin of Mclean, Va.; three nieces, Mrs. Steve (Glenda) Rogers of Falls Church, Va., Mrs. Gerald (Sheila) Katz of Potomac, Md., and Mrs. Ivan (Betsy) Chosneck of Jupiter, Fla.; a cousin, Mrs. Melvin (Frances) Ornoff of Portsmouth; two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Meyer (Rita) Smith of Virginia Beach, and Sadye Levin of Norfolk; and eight great-nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk. The Rabbi Arthur Ruberg will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jewish Family Service of Norfolk. Altmeyer Funeral Home is handling the services.
