Vincent H. Luizzi, 72, a native of East Hartford, Conn., died July 20, 1996, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.
Mr. Luizzi was the retired owner and operator of Luizzi Trucking. He was a member of Catholic Church of St. Mark's; Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks, Lodge (NU)268 in Virginia Beach; Knights of Columbus (NU)3386 in Newington, Conn., where he was a fourth degree member; Roma Lodge (NU)254; Veterans of Foreign Wars (NU)254, Newington; American Legion Post (NU)116, Bloomfield, Conn. He was a U.S. Naval veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Adeline Luizzi; a daughter, Theresa A. Bourgard and her husband, Stephen of Virginia Beach; a son, John V. Luizzi of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Mary Donahue of Manchester, Conn., Jean Guilmette of Enfield, Conn.; and two granddaughters, Meredith Bourgard and Cristina Bourgard, both of Virginia Beach.
A funeral Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday by Father Daniel Klem in Catholic Church of St. Mark's. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The Roma Lodge will conduct a service at 7 p.m. today in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service until 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Kempsville Rescue Squad.
