Don Phillip Hopkins, 45, of the 500 block of River Creek Road, died July 19, 1996, in his home.
Born in Portsmouth, he was a welder 1-C for Temporary Services for 24 years and was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Search and Rescue Service for two years.
He is survived by his mother, Isabel Hopkins of Chesapeake; three brothers, Trevor Hopkins, Barry Hopkins and Howard Hopkins of Chesapeake; two daughters-in-law, Carol Hopkins and Paulette Hopkins of Chesapeake; an aunt, Hazel Shotwell of Cleveland, Ohio; and many other surviving relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church Crestwood by the Rev. Willie Lee Samuels. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Fitchett Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
