William Bell Miller, 79, formerly of Norfolk, died Monday July 22, 1996, in Asheboro, N.C.
Mr. Miller was a native of Clinton, Ill., and was the son of the late John and Louise Miller. He was the husband of Alia Perez Miller. He was a retired chief petty officer with 20 years service in the U.S. Navy and had also retired from Civil Service.
Other survivors include his two daughters, Marguerite Rose Ives and Katherine Johnson, both of Chesapeake; a grandson, William Boyd Johnson of Virginia Beach; and a son-in-law, Alan L. Ives of Chesapeake.
A graveside service with military honors will be conducted in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens on Friday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. W. Roberts McIvor. There will be no public viewing or visitation. The family will be at 1130 Waters Road. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to a favorite charity. Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, is handling arrangements.
