Larry Bryant and his boat, Whisper, had something to shout about after last weekend's Cock Island sailboat race. Bryant was the only Portsmouth winner in a competition that included 300 boats in 10 different categories.
Bryant won the NonSpin 1 class, completing the Elizabeth River course in 2:36:36. Portsmouth resident Robert Burnell, skippering Lady Katie, was the runnerup in the class in a time of 2:37:10.
Jennifer Moore of Norfolk, piloting Tantrum, was named the Hanbury Cup winner as the overall champion. She won the PHRF C class.
