Jesse Darren Simmons, 35, of the 1200 block of E. Chester St., died July 27, 1996, in a local hospital.
A native of Norfolk, Mr. Simmons was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jean Simmons; a son, Jesse Darren Simmons II of Norfolk; his parents, Wilbur and Dorothy Simmons of Norfolk; a sister, Louise Simmons of Norfolk; two brothers, Durk Simmons of Norfolk and Derek Simmons of Summerville, S.C.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 1996, in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by Pastor David W. Gibson and Dr. John Mason. Burial is in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday.
