JAMES E. WISE

James Emmett Wise, 58, of N. Harbor Road, died Saturday, July 27, 1996, in Maryland.

A native of Isle of Wight Co., Va., Mr. Wise was employed by Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock. He was a member of Berea Christian Church UCC, Driver Ruritan Club, Nansemond River Power Squadron, Nansemond Masonic Lodge No. 77 and North Suffolk Social Club.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia B. Wise; his mother, Susie Bradshaw Wise of Smithfield; daughters, Lynda D. Wise Stielow and husband, Kevin, of Portsmouth, Lisa W. Barber and husband, Bob, of North Bend, Ore.; two sisters, Betty Sue Burris of Suffolk, Louise Bailey of Williamsburg; four brothers, John W. Wise of Stoney Creek, Va., Francis H. Wise of Council Bluffs, Iowa, David E. Wise, Jessie E. Wise, both of Smithfield; and three grandchildren, Robby, Alexandra and Meredith.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, 1996, in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, by the Rev. Bill Simmons. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to Nansemond Masonic Lodge No. 77 or Berea Christian Church Organ Fund.
