Local police are seeking public assistance in solving these cases: Virginia Beach 427-0000

One man is believed to be responsible for three recent armed robberies.

The Signet Bank branch at Diamond Springs Road at Wesleyan Drive was robbed on Tuesday, April 23, at 10:15 a.m. Albano Cleaners at Providence Square Shopping Center was robbed on Thursday, May 9, at 2:30 p.m. And a First Virginia Bank branch at Princess Anne Road at South Parliament Drive was robbed on Friday, May 10, at 9:30 a.m.

The suspect is described as black with a medium build, in his late 20s or early 30s, 5 feet 8 inches tall, 170 pounds with a mustache and goatee. He was was wearing a dark blue-hooded sweatshirt, light-colored pants and tan-brimmed fishing hat. Portsmouth 488-7777

A Chanello's Pizza driver was robbed while making delivery in the 3600 block of Gateway Drive on Thursday, July 4, about 1 a.m.

The driver was approached by an armed suspect who ordered him to hand over the pizza and all of his cash. The driver was unharmed.

The suspect is described as black, 5 feet 5 inches tall, about 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a medium-length black jacket, black pants and a blue ski mask. Suffolk 539-1222

On June 6, someone broke into Pruden Packing Co. in the 1200 block of North Main St. in Suffolk.

The burglars took eight cases of meat holding about 225 hams. A similar burglary happened at Felts Hams in Zuni. It also happened on a weekend and about the same number of hams were taken. Chesapeake 487-1234

The Hardee's restaurant in the 800 block of North George Washington Highway in Deep Creek was robbed about 6 a.m. on June 9.

A man, who implied he had a weapon, committed the robbery. He ran from the restaurant. The suspect is described as black with a dark complexion, about 25 years old with a slim build. He was clean-shaven and had a cleft chin and was wearing a blue hat, dark jeans and a blue and purple long-sleeved striped shirt.

The nude body of Andrew ``Andre'' D. Smith of the Truxtun area of Portsmouth was found shortly before 9 a.m. on Monday, July 22, in the 3000 block of Yadkin Road.

This homicide has not been linked to a string of serial murders, but investigators are still gathering vital information. Hampton 722-9800

The Super 8 Motel in the 1300 block of Thomas St. was robbed about 12:45 a.m. on May 10.

The robber approached the counter, pointed a black pistol at the clerk and demanded money.

The man is described as black, in his mid-30s, 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a medium complexion and a goatee. He was wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt.
