Jenson Baker, who stepped down as head football coach at Wilson High School to serve a one-year stint on the Norfolk State University staff, is returning to his former job.
Baker reapplied for the vacancy when illness forced Joe Ladisic to resign, and he was chosen last week from a group of applicants.
Baker resigned after the '94 season to take a part-time position on Darnell Moore's staff at Norfolk State, while continuing to teach at Wilson.
``Coaching at the college level has been a wonderful experience for me,'' said Baker.
Baker, 39, was head football coach at Cradock for three years and at Manor for one before the school was merged with Wilson. He then directed the Presidents for two seasons.
A graduate of Hampton University and a former Cradock High School quarterback, Baker began his coaching career in Detroit.
He was an assistant coach at Pershing and Kettering high schools before becoming head coach at Kettering in 1986.
He left to replace Bob Parker as Cradock's coach in 1989. ILLUSTRATION: Jenson Baker, who coached part-time at Norfolk State
