Danny Ray Hedgepeth, 53, of the 13000 block of E. Windsor Blvd., died July 31, 1996, in Obici Hospital, Suffolk.
Mr. Hedgepeth, a native of Suffolk, was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local (NU)147. He was a construction equipment operator.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Smith Hedgepeth; a daughter, Julie H. Johnson of Suffolk; a stepdaughter, Wanda Warren of Smithfield; three sons, Danny Ray Hedgepeth Jr. of Nags Head, N.C., William Ray Hedgepeth and Jason Daniel Hedgepeth, both of Windsor; three stepsons, Steven B. Warren of Portsmouth, Robert Michael Warren of Chesapeake and Jonathan Eric Warren of Carrollton; his mother, Katherine Presson Hedgepeth Sadler of Windsor; two sisters, Marjorie H. Edwards of Windsor and Linda H. Bundy of Suffolk; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by his father, Ray William Hedgepeth.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday by the Rev. David M. Jendrey in Holly Lawn Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends at Harrell Funeral Home today from 7 to 8 p.m. and other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to the Isle of Wight Rescue Squad.
