Edward Darden ``Bear'' Raiford, 34, of the 5500 block of Weatherby Way, died Aug. 1, 1996, in Obici Hospital.
A native of Tampa, Fla., Mr. Raiford was a long-distance truck driver and a member of the Suffolk Motorcycle Club.
Survivors include his wife, Kimberley M. Chapman of Suffolk; a son, Thomas D. Raiford of Suffolk; a stepson, Big Ron Chapman of Suffolk; his mother, Della Winslow of Chesapeake; and a brother, Bill Harris of Ashland, Ohio. He was predeceased by his father, Edward Darden Raiford Sr.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Holly Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. today in Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, and other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bennett's Creek Rescue Squad.
