Lora Raiford Horne, 87, of the 1200 block of Old Somerton Road, died Aug. 2, 1996, in Obici Hospital.
She was the widow of James Robert ``Jim Bob'' Horne. A homemaker, Mrs. Horne was a native of Burdette, Va., and a member of Southside Baptist Church, Suffolk.
Survivors include four sons, James R. Horne Jr., Glenn G. Horne, Alan Horne, all of Suffolk, Steve M. Horne of Courtland; a sister, Evelyn B. Tarkington of Windsor, N.C.; a brother, Robert H. Raiford of Holland Station, Suffolk; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five nieces; and a nephew. She was predeceased by her mother, Lizzie Belle Bradshaw and father, Robert Hudson Raiford; and a sister, Eunice Parker.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Hill Funeral Home, Suffolk, by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson and the Rev. Stewart McCarter. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors from 2 and 4 p.m. today in Hill Funeral Home. The family requests that memorials be made to the building fund of Southside Baptist Church, 917 Carolina Road, Suffolk, Va. 23434.
