Bernice Chester, 74, of the 1800 block of Brookwood Road, died Aug. 3, 1996, in a local nursing home.
A native of Tilene, Ky., Mrs. Chester was a homemaker and member of St. John's United Methodist Church. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign War (NU)4809, Moose Lodge (NU)691, Chesapeake Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon Chester; a son, Jackie H. Chester of Norfolk; two sisters, Elaine Tucker of Paducah, Ky., Beth Keith of Southgate, Calif.; two brothers, Donnie Tucker of Paducah and Jimmy W. Tucker of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Services are pending in Paducah. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
