A parade of cars, seen through the windshield and in the rearview

mirror of a 1939 Chevy truck, makes its way from Norfolk's Harbor

Park to Town Point Park on Saturday. The event, part of the Auto

Centennial Celebration, marked the 100th anniversary of the American

automobile industry. Pat Roe, a Pennzoil representative and a

sponsor of the event, estimated that 5,000 people turned out in the

rain to see about 250 cars, owned by members of Hampton Roads auto

clubs. The oldest car, a 1914 Model T Ford, led the parade.

Attendance was ``not bad considering the weather,'' Roe said. ``In

good weather, we could have had 25,000.'' by CNB
