Richard Lee Dix, 85, of Onancock, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 1996, at the Hermitage on the Eastern Shore.
A native of Cape Charles, he was the son of the late Otho L. and Annie Ward Dix and was the widower of Virginia Turner Dix. Mr. Dix was retired as manager of the Salisbury Branch of Dillard Paper Company, formerly Old Dominion Paper Co. He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and former member of Epworth United Methodist Church. He was a member of Broadwater Masonic Lodge (NU)71 AF & AM and a former member of Exmore Volunteer Fire Company.
Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth D. Belote of Onancock, Susan D. Sturgis of Salisbury, Md., and Virginia D. Buchanan of Chesapeake; a sister, Navilla D. Cantwell of Baltimore, Md.; a brother, Martin Dix of Baldwin, Md.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Cape Charles Cemetery by the Rev. James H. Boice. Friends may join the family from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in Doughty Funeral Home, Exmore. Memorials may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church, 1401 Camden Ave. Ext., Salisbury, Md. 21801.
