EDWARD SAMPSON

Edward Sampson, 85, of the 1200 block of Portsmouth Blvd., died Aug. 3, 1996, in Maryview Hospital.

Mr. Sampson was a native of Portsmouth and retired from Naval Air Station, Naval Rework Facility after 30 years service. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Mr. Sampson was predeceased by his wife, Magdelene ``Bunny'' Sampson; his father and mother, Lysander and Missouri Sampson; sister, Victoria S. McAlphine and brother, Everett Drew.

Survivors include his stepmother, Julia Sampson; three sisters, Louise S. Dowtin, Dorothy Watson and Ada Pear; a brother, Elmo A. Sampson Sr.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.

The service will be conducted at Ebenezer Baptist Church Wednesday at 11 a.m. Fisher Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Interment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
