RICHARD E. PALMER

Richard E. Palmer, 54, of the 600 block of Southlake Circle, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 1996, in Sentara Norfolk General.

A native of Norfolk, Mr. Palmer served five years in the U.S. Marine Corps. Following his military service, Mr. Palmer was a shoe salesman, and during his career worked for Thalheimer's, JC Penney, and Hecht's. Mr. Palmer was a member of American Legion Post (NU)0141 and a local Moose lodge.

Mr. Palmer was the son of the late Hattie Walston Palmer and Joseph Palmer. Survivors include his wife, Teresa Diane Jackson Palmer; a daughter, Stephanie Nault; two grandsons, Zachary Nault and Joshua Nault; and three sisters, Betty Grove of Pennsylvania, Mary Louise Buchanan Koeneman of Chesapeake, and Barbara Chitwood of Kentucky. He was predeceased by three brothers, Horace R., Irving M., and Joseph E. Palmer.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel. Visitation will be held in the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. in Quantico National Cemetery, Quantico, Va.
