Pearle Bailey Saunders, 91, widow of Commodore William A. Saunders III, died Monday Aug. 5, 1996.
She was directress of the Altar Guild at Christ Church Parish. She is survived by a son, William A. Saunders IV and daughter-in-law, Nora Lee Saunders; two grandchildren, John Richard Taliferro Saunders III and Deborah Anne Deringer; four great-grandchildren, John Richard Taliferro Saunders IV, Christine Elizabeth Saunders, Lauren Elizabeth Deringer and Page Marie Deringer; and a sister, Gladys Bailey Allman of Bridgeport, W.Va.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. today in the Saunders home ``Leafwood'' in Saluda. The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Christ Church Episcopal, Middlesex County. Burial will follow in the churchyard. The family encourages consideration of memorial gifts to the Altar Guild at Christ Church Parish, Christchurch, Va. 23031. ``Thanks be to God.''
