Gilbert Roland Parker, 68, of the 1000 block of Libertyville Road, died July 30, 1996.
Mr. Parker, a retired chef, was a native of Tarboro, N.C. He was a member of National Maritime Union Merchant Seaman.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Parker of Norfolk; two daughters, Robin Parker of Norfolk, Parish Parker of San Antonio, Texas; three sons, Gilbert Roland Parker Jr., Gregory R. Parker, Enden T. Parker, all of Norfolk; two sisters, Doris P. Tarver, Rosa Lee Bell, both of Tarboro; a brother, Willie C. Parker of New York; four grandchildren, Mecquiva Parker, Paulette Parker, Fallon Parker, all of Norfolk, Pharard A. Gray of San Antonio. He was predeceased by his parents, Katie Williams Parker and Willie Parker.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Hale Funeral Home, Norfolk. Burial will be in Calvery Cemetery. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
