Melvin A. Goffigan, of the 4200 block of Palmetto, died July 30, 1996.
Mr. Goffigan, a native of Princess Anne County, was a former member of First Lynnhaven Baptist Church, Virginia Beach.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Goffigan; two daughters, Sierra Goffigan of Hot Springs, Tanya Rouse of Virginia Beach; two sons, Aaron M. Goffigan of North Carolina and Phillip H. Gassaway of Chesapeake; his parents, Marion H. Goffigan and Earl Goffigan, both of Virginia Beach; a sister, Rita G. Stauffer of Virginia Beach; four brothers, Randy L. Goffigan and Christopher M. Goffigan, both of Virginia Beach, Larry L. Goffigan of Edgewood, Md., and Walter E. Goffigan of Laramie, Wyo.; maternal grandparents, James Harrison and Elenor Harrison of Chesapeake; a grandson, Trevel Coner; and a host of other aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday by the Rev. Edgar Williams in First Lynnhaven Baptist Church. Burial will be in Rosewood Cemetery. The family will be at 4717 Ashbury Lane, Virginia Beach. Community Funeral Home, Virginia Beach Chapel, is in charge.
