Claude Wilson Hughes, 80, of the 200 block of Leonard Road, died Aug. 5, 1996, in his residence.
A native of Montgomery Co., Va., he was a retired sheet-metal worker for the Naval Air Rework Facility. Mr. Hughes was a member of Alexander Baptist Church, Portsmouth, and Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Maye Hughes; a daughter, Debbie Duncan, and her husband, Tony, of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Sarah and Ryan Duncan; and two brothers, Alvin Shirley Hughes of Radford, Va., and Lawrence Harvey Hughes of Roanoke, Va.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. today in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. John Burr. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.
