Fannie Belle Long, 81, of the 3200 block of Winchester Drive, died Aug. 7, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.
Born in North Hampton County, N.C., she was the widow of Samuel E. Long Sr. She was a member of Beazley Senior Center and Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Frances Campen of Lizella, Ga.; a son, Samuel E. Long Jr. of Courtland, Va.; a sister, Geneva Johnson of Portsmouth; a brother, Curtis Bridgers of Asheville, N.C.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Philip Parker in Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
