James E. Barber, 51, of the 100 block of Ford St., died Aug. 6, 1996, in Sentara Nursing Center, Norfolk. He was born in Portsmouth.
Survivors include five daughters, Lynette Dennis of Norfolk, Tedren Saunders, Michelle Boone, Earlene Boone and Sherry Boone, all of Portsmouth; three sisters; and six brothers.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Friday in Corprew Funeral Home, Portsmouth, by Bishop J.H. Coppage. Burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Cemetery, Portsmouth. Viewing at the funeral home will begin at noon today.
