Larry ``Tom'' D. Thompson, 55, of the 8100 block of Shore Drive, died in Portsmouth General Hospital on Aug. 7, 1996.
He was born in New Jersey on Feb. 2, 1941. He was a chief petty officer U.S.N., Retired. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion and was preceded in death by his father, Francis Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret ``Peggy'' Thompson of Rocky Mount, N.C.; his mother, Helen Hill Thompson; a son, Ronald L. Thompson of Nashville, N.C.; three brothers, Fritz and Alex Thompson, both of Shell Rock, Iowa, and Sam Thompson of St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held privately. Altmeyer Funeral Home is in charge.
