Mary Elizabeth Harrell, 77, of the 1300 block of 38th St., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 8, 1996. She died in a local hospital.
Mary was born in Scotland Neck, N.C., and was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church of Lambert's Point, Norfolk. She was a retired domestic.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Harry M. Harrell Sr.; a daughter, Darlene H. Moody of Norfolk; two sons, Harry M. Harrell Jr. of Orange, N.J., James L. Harrell of Norfolk; seven grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Mary was predeceased by her son, Romulus Gibbs Jr. of Paterson, N.J.
A homegoing service will be conducted at noon Monday in First Missionary Baptist Church of Lambert's Point by the Rev. Anthony C. Paige. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Missionary Baptist Church of Lambert's Point, HIV/AIDS Ministry. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m.
