Gov. George Allen has announced appointments to the Hampton Roads Sports Facility Authority. Local board members, effective July 1, are as follows:
Kit Webb of Suffolk - President of Webb's Transfer Inc., a third generation trucking company. Chairman of the board of a mediation-arbitration service in Tidewater. Founder of Concerned Citizens of Suffolk and a 1994 recipient of the Senatorial Medal of Freedom Award. Graduate of Florida State University. Webb will serve a three-year term on the board.
Brad Face of Isle of Wight County - Chief executive officer of the Face Companies, a concrete floor business. President of the Future of Hampton Roads Inc., a group of civic, business, academic and cultural leaders. Former sports broadcaster for WVEC-TV in Norfolk. Received a bachelor's degree in speech communications from the University of Virginia. Face will serve a four-year term on the board.
Alan V. Monette of Isle of Wight County - Founder and president of Basse's Choice Plantation Inc., a mail order catalog company which features Virginia products. Founder and president of Monette Information Systems, a national provider of health-care computer systems and hardware. Former captain in the U.S. Marine Corps, past president of the Armed Forces Marketing Council and past member of the American Logistics Association. Received a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina. Monette will serve a three-year term on the board. by CNB
