Nellie Gray Hansley, 61, of the 2700 block of Magnolia St., died Aug. 9, 1996, in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.
She was a cook at Maryview Medical Center for 37 years. She was a native of Vanceboro, N.C., and a member of St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, Portsmouth. She was also a member of Gosport Neighborhood Watch Organization and Wilson Ward Civic League.
Survivors include two sisters, Alma Turner and Mary McEachin, both of Portsmouth; a brother, Alton Hansley of New York, N.Y.; a host of nieces including, Dorothy M. Lea of Portsmouth; a host of great-nieces including, Kathleen Lea of Portsmouth; and a host of nephews; and great-nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday by the Rev. Curtis E. Edmonds Sr. in St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon today. The body will be taken to the church at 10:30 a.m. Monday. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
