PALESTINE B. ANGE

Palestine B. Ange, 75, died at her home, Aug. 9, 1996, after suffering a long illness.

Mrs. Ange was born in Beaufort County, N.C. Pal was formerly employed as a seamstress by Sears Roebuck and Co. and as a bus driver for Chesapeake Public Schools. She had been a member of Bethel Baptist Church for 40 years, and a faithful member of the Ladies' Bible Class. Over the years, she had served the church in various capacities of leadership.

Pal is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Robert E. Ange Sr.; a son, Robert E. Ange Jr., and his wife, Margaret, of Suffolk; two daughters, Patricia A. Davis, and her husband, Lewis, of Gretna, Va., and Brenda A. Turbeville, and her husband, Harold, of Chesapeake; six sisters, Magdalene Sizer, Charlotte Myers, Joyce Godley, Revonda Somers, and Phyllis Alligood, all of Washington, N.C., Francis Brooks of Pantego, N.C.; three brothers, Roy Boyd of Greenville, N.C., Clinton Boyd of Washington, N.C., and Wade Boyd of Pinetown, N.C.; three granddaughters, Donna A. Sawyer, and her husband, Kelly, Charlene A. Wells, and her husband, Tim, of Chesapeake, and Sarah L. Davis of Gretna; and a great-grandson, Zachary Scott Wells, of Chesapeake.

The funeral will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, by the Rev. H.F. Roberson. Interment will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Elbow Road. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 9 p.m.
