Van Jones Maddox, 62, of Holiday Island, died Aug. 10, 1996.
Mr. Maddox, a native of Alabama, was a retired clothing store manager. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Blevins of Suffolk, Darlene Jensen of Virginia Beach; a son, Randall Brittain of Chesapeake; nine sisters; a brother; and four grandchildren, Jeffrey Blevins, Scott and Melissa Jensen, and Daniel Brittain.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday by Pastor Fritz Stegemann in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and at other times at 5509 Buckhorne Crescent, Suffolk. The family suggest that memorial donations be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
