Alex Story, 91, of the 900 block of Lunenberg St., departed this life Aug. 8, 1996, in the Berkley Section of Norfolk.
Mr. Story, a native of Southampton County, retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a rivet heater after 28 years of service. He was a member of St. Mark United Church of Christ, Norfolk. He was the son of the late Amanda Stith. He was predeceased by his twin brother, George Story, and his stepfather, Eddie Stith.
Survivors include four sisters, Rosa Lee Wynn, Ethel Lane, Emma Bright, Gladys Stith, all of Norfolk; four brothers, Johnnie F. Stith, Junius Stith, Leroy Stith, Alexander Stith Sr., all of Norfolk; two special cousins, Louise Pinner, Olla Pinner; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Thomas Hart at St. Mark United Church of Christ, 521 Obendorfer Road and Berkley Ave., Norfolk. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 901 Lunenberg St., Tuesday at noon for the funeral procession to the church. Metropolitan Funeral Service is in charge.
