Oris Raymond Brittenham, 80, of Route 1, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 1996, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
A native of Hertford County, he was the son of the late Matrey G. and Mrs. Janie Holloman Brittenham. He was the owner and operator of Brittenham's Garage and attended Zion United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mavis Williams Hofler Brittenham; a stepdaughter, Judy H. Eure of Gatesville; a stepson, Willie E. Hofler Jr. of Gatesville; two sisters, Verlah Harrison of Ahoskie and Exie Lassiter of Vanceboro; three brothers, Harvey J. Brittenham, G.R. ``Groundhog'' Brittenham and Henry Lee Brittenham, all of Ahoskie; three grandchildren, Bill Hofler, Cheryl Stallings and Travis Eure; and one great-grandson, Russell Stallings.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. Lisa Creech-Bledsoe and the Rev. Laura Early. Burial will follow in the Hofler Family Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in Miller Funeral Home and all other times at the residence.
