JESSE W. MARKUM

Jesse Woodrow Markum, 82, died Aug. 10, 1996, in Norfolk. Mr. Markum, a native of McMinnville, Tenn., was the retired barber and owner of Aragona Barber Shop. Also he was a chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy, served in World War II and retired in 1955 with 20 years of service. He was a Protestant and a member of Ruth Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret S. Markum; a daughter, Donna M. Markum of Virginia Beach; a sister, Sepal Mooneyham of Nashville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Meredith and Whitney Mastin; and a great-grandson, Jesse Lemke.

The funeral will be held at 7:30 p.m. today at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Virginia Beach.
