TEEN WAIVES EXTRADITION

One of two teenage cousins on waived extradition Monday from Norfolk, where they were jailed on warrants charging them with killing two pawn shop workers in Alabama.

LaSamuel Gamble, 18, chose not to contest efforts to return him to Shelby County, Ala., during a brief appearance in Norfolk General District Court.

Gamble and Marcus E. Gamble are charged in the July 25 slayings of pawn shop owner John Burleson and his store manager, Janice Littleton, in Sterritt, Ala.

The case of Marcus Gamble, also known as Marcus Presley, was referred to juvenile court.

FBI agents arrested the teens on federal fugitive warrants about 9:30 a.m. Friday at a house in downtown Norfolk.

Bo McFarland, supervising agent in the Norfolk FBI office, said at least 32 weapons, $2,300 in cash and a large amount of gold jewelry was stolen from the pawn shop.

The cousins also are suspected in the slayings of a convenience store clerk in Arkansas and four employees at a furniture store in Mississippi. by CNB
