Motor vehicle theft, 200 block Spruce St., Aug. 2, someone removed a gray, 4-door, '90 Hyundai Excel without permission.
Breaking and entering, 300 block Carolina Road, Aug. 2, someone forced open a window and security bars in an attempt to enter a business.
Breaking and entering, 200 block Pinner St., Aug. 2, someone removed a moped from an unlocked shed.
Thrown missiles, 200 block Pinner St., Aug. 2, someone threw an object through the front window of an occupied residence.
Petty larceny, 1200 block Sierra Drive, Aug. 3, someone removed a city decal and an inspection sticker.
Hit and run, 1200 block Nansemond Parkway, Aug. 4, someone driving a gray, 4-door '87 Nissan Maxima struck the fence in front of a residence, also creating damage to the front yard. The driver left without exchanging proper information. The vehicle was also left behind.
Vandalism, 900 block Railroad Ave., Aug. 4, three juveniles threw rocks at a '90 Plymouth Sundance, damaging the hood and windshield.
Unauthorized use, 1500 block Freeney Ave., Aug. 4, a woman allowed her son to use her vehicle. After an accident, her son advised a friend to take the keys to his girlfriend's house. However, this person used the keys to drive the car away.
Petty larceny, 300 block Briggs St., Aug. 5, someone removed the front license plate from a vehicle.
Grand larceny, 100 block North Division St., someone removed a Lorcin .25 firearm from a bedroom dresser.
Breaking and entering, 500 block East Constance Road, Aug. 6, someone reported a man inside a store after it had been secured. Police discovered a large hole that appeared to have been made with a hammer or crowbar. An arrest was made.

Grand larceny, 9800 South Quay Road, Aug. 1, someone removed two dogs without permission. One is white and black with one blue eye and one brown eye. The other dog is brown and white with brown eyes.
