Lillian L. Early, 79, of the 3300 block of Pinehill Crescent, died Aug. 12, 1996, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
A native of Hertford, N.C., she was the widow of Charlie Early. Mrs. Early was active in Third Baptist Church, Portsmouth, as a member of the gospel choir, church school and the Mount Hermon Club. Also she was a member of Courts of Colanthian (NU)273.
Survivors include a daughter, Doris L. Johnson of Chesapeake; a son, the Rev. Reginald A. Early of Portsmouth; a devoted friend, Doris Lamb; a devoted neighbor, Georgetta Flood; and a host of friends. She was predeceased by a grandson, Thomas E. Norman Jr.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Third Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Joe B. Fleming. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. today in Corprew Funeral Home. The family will be at Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial United Methodist Church from 6 to 7 p.m. today and also at 700 Crawford Parkway (NU)14, Portsmouth, and 3317 Pinehill Crescent, Chesapeake, where family and friends will assemble for the funeral service.
