Benita P. Clark, 42, of the 700 block of Glenshire Drive, died Aug. 13, 1996, in her home.
She was a native of New York, N.Y., and had worked as a Navy administrative clerk for the U.S. Civil Service for six years. She attended St. Monica Elementary School, St. Pascal High School, and Lehman and York College in New York City. She joined the U.S. Navy, where she served for 14 years.
Survivors include three sons, Jamal, Chaz and Kekila; her mother, Caridad Mitchell Scandrett of New York, N.Y.; her father, Cecil Scandrett of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a sister; two brothers; her grandmother, Mrs. Lannie Robinson; a granddaughter, Keshayla; her stepmother, Evelyn Scandrett; an aunt; an uncle; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday by Father Timothy Keeney in Basilica of St. Mary Catholic Church, Norfolk. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake, with military honors. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at 2 p.m. today. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Saturday.
