Luther Rice Duffey, 75, of Bertha Lane, died Friday Aug. 16, 1996, in his residence.
A native of Humbolt, Tenn., Mr. Duffey retired from Virginia Chemical. He was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Duffey; two daughters, Kimberly R. Askew of Suffolk and Pamela J. Farmer of Rolling Meadows, Ill.; five sisters, Jamie Jayme of Orwell, Ohio, Geneva Ives of Venice, Fla., Sarah Patterson of Brownsville, Tenn., Martha Cross of Burton, Ohio and Mildred Davis of Crete, Ill.; three brothers of Raymond Duffey of Brownsville, Tenn., Harold Duffey of Burton, Ohio, Ted Duffey of Big Sandy, Tenn.; seven grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd., by the Rev. Tom Potter. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
