JULIA M. FIELDS

Julia M. Fields, 76, of the 2800 block of Hollister Ave., died Aug. 15, 1996, in her residence.

A native of Norfolk, she was the widow of Arnold Fields. Mrs. Fields retired as teacher and librarian of Granby Elementary School for the Norfolk Public School System after more than 30 years of service. She was a member of Stewardess Board No. 1 and Brock-Hunter Fellowship group of Saint John A.M.E. Church, Norfolk. Also she was a member of Prudential Social Club and Alpha-Chi Chapter Iota-Phi Lamda Sorority Inc.

Survivors include a god-daughter, Patrica Taylor; two stepsons, Roscoe Fields of Easton, Md., James Fields of Camden, N.J.; eight step-grandchildren, 16 step-great-grandchildren; a devoted cousin, Brenda J. Williams; and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Monday in Saint John A.M.E. Church, Norfolk, by the Rev. William A. Dyson. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. A sorority service will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Hale Funeral Home Chapel. The body will be placed in church at 10 a.m. Monday.
