I take issue with the recent letter saying that the Republican Congress has already attempted to enact the public policies that the National Reform Party supports.
The Republican ``revolution'' ended up being just another special-interest bonanza on the public treasury. Huge tax cuts for the wealthy, increases in corporate welfare and pandering to the Christian Coalition and the National Rifle Association have dominated the Republican agenda.
No real efforts at balancing the federal budget or changing the political culture in Washington have been passed by either house of Congress. Indeed, the change in party control of Congress since 1994 has shown just how completely special-interest-money politics owns both the Democrats and the Republicans in Congress.
If the average, honest citizens of this country want their own powerful lobbyist in Washington, D.C., to protect their tax money and their personal freedoms, they should vote this November for the only presidential candidate on the ticket who is not owned by special interests intent on cashing in at our expense.
