Zeta Overby Redmond McKinney, 86, died Aug. 22, 1996, at Portsmouth General Hospital, Portsmouth.
She was a native of Baltimore and spent her early life in Highland Springs, Va. For many years she resided in the Portsmouth-Chesapeake area. Zeta was a member of Monumental United Methodist Church, the Adams Sunday School Class, Monumental United Methodist Women and a member of the Beazley Bridge Club.
Zeta was predeceased by her husband of 37 years, Quinton Raymond Redmond of Swansea, S.C.; her husband of 15 years, Guy Russell McKinney of Yakima, Wash.; a granddaughter, Lellani Lee Mills. She is survived by a daughter, Helen Sue Bryant and her husband, Richard B. Bryant Sr.; a daughter, Ray Lee Fenton and her husband, Robert E. Fenton, both of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Mary Lee Backus of Suffolk, Sharon K. Duffee of Portsmouth, Richard B. Bryant Jr. of Chesapeake and Henry I. Mills of Deland, Fla.; two cousins, Ronald A. Audet of Williamsburg and Benjamin Hobart Audet of Rockville, Md.; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Loving Funeral Home, Churchland. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Monumental United Methodist Church by the Rev. Raymond Edmonds. Interment will be in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth. Afterwards the family will be at 4501 Buckingham Drive, Portsmouth. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Monumental Vision of Monumental United Methodist Church, Dinwiddie and Queen Streets, Portsmouth 23704.
