Hattie Bradshaw Raiford, 97, a native of Southampton County, died Aug. 23, 1996, in Williamsburg.
Mrs. Raiford was the widow of Gurley Raiford and was the daughter of the late A.M. and Sarah Hatfield Bradshaw. She was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Lucille D. West of Newport News; a son, Beaury Raiford of Franklin; two sisters, Annie B. Turner of Norfolk and Ethel B. Braswell of Zuni; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Hubert Raiford and a granddaughter, Linda R. Respess.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Black Creek Baptist Church by the Rev. Wayne Underwood. Burial will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley. The family will receive friends at the home of Beaury and Thelma Raiford, 32176 Vicksville Road, Franklin, and suggest that memorials be made to Black Creek Baptist Church, 34163 Vicksville Road, Franklin, Va. 23851. Wright Funeral Home is in charge.
