Patricia Holden Leete, 82, of the 1300 block of Lake Point Drive, died Aug. 25, 1996, in Chesapeake.
Mrs. Leete was born in Louisburg, N.C., and was the widow of Laurin Leete. She was retired as a school teacher after 44 years. She taught in the Chesapeake public schools and Warren County, N.C. public schools. She was a member of Deep Creek United Methodist Church and the Wesleyan Circle. She was a graduate of Elon College and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, Retired Teachers Association and Deep Creek Senior Citizens. She was an avid bridge and canasta player and a lover of good jokes. She had a strong compassion for children and nature and was a loyal friend to many.
Survivors include a brother, Ben T. Holden of Charlotte, N.C.; seven nieces, Cheryl P. Casper and Martha Ann Alspaugh, both of Charlotte, N.C., Charlotte Glisson of Atlanta, Richie O'Briant of Durham, N.C., Joan Cuthriell and Jane McClanahan, both of Chesapeake, and Kathryn Hilton of Virginia Beach; and a nephew, Ben T. Holden III of Annapolis, Md.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Deep Creek United Methodist Church by the Rev. O. Murray Unruh and the Rev. Brad Phillips. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk. Visitation for family and friends will be at 7 p.m. today at the home of Jane McClanahan, 1303 Lake Point Drive, Chesapeake. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Deep Creek United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor's choice. Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, is handling arrangements.
