Charlotte Brownley Smith, 95, died Monday Aug. 26, 1996, in a local hospital.
Born April 3, 1901, in Portsmouth, she was the daughter of the late John Henry Brownley and Eliza Jane Diggs Brownley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Forrest Smith. She was a member of the University of Virginia Hospital Auxiliary and a Communicant of Christ Episcopal Church in Charlottesville.
Burial services at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Norfolk will be announced at a later time. Hill and Wood Funeral Home, Charlottesville, is in charge of arrangements.
