Communications Technician Interpreter Chief James Allen Holcomb, 46, died Aug. 25, 1996, in a Norfolk hospital.
Born in Freeport, Long Island, N.Y., he was employed by the U.S. Navy for 23 years and later by the National Security Agency in Fort Meade, Md.
Survivors include his wife, Margarita R. Holcomb; a daughter, Penelope Anne Holcomb of Laurel; a son, Michael James Holcomb of Laurel; his parents, retired U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr. B.J. Holcomb and Virginia R. Holcomb of Norfolk; mother-in-law, Josefa Rubiales of Spain; and many other family and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Little Creek Amphibious Base Chapel by the Rev. John Morris. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
