A Syracuse University administrator has been named the new adult studies director of Virginia Wesleyan College.
Katherine M. Loring had served as senior program administrator for Syracuse's Division of Continuing Education and Summer Sessions since 1988. Before that, she was women's studies coordinator for the Great Lakes Colleges Association, a consortium of Midwestern schools.
``She brings years of experience to this position, and her leadership will add strength to this important academic program,'' said Virginia Wesleyan's president, William T. Greer Jr.
Loring succeeds Dorothy B. Hinman, who directed the college's adult studies program from 1984 until this summer. She resigned to work for her sister's consulting firm in Chicago. The program has grown from 52 students in 1982 to 378 last year. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
